I love a Chicago corner--these turret buildings with their pointy caps are a favorite subject of mine. I painted this on location early one morning while the sun was still low enough to create long shadows and a halo around the bushy trees.
While there is a Starbucks in this storefront, I chose to omit the sign, and I changed the umbrella color to red because I already had a lot of green in the painting.
