I painted this en plein air on Tilghman Island at a workshop with Walt Bartman. He has a studio on the island, and he told us to scatter around his property to paint. Well, right next door was this boat in his neighbor's yard. I asked Mr. Bartman if his neighbor would mind if I set up in his yard. Bartman replied, "Hundreds of people have painted that boat. He's used to us."
