Florals

I like painting flowers for so many reasons. They're wild, colorful, weird--not to mention pretty. Putting together a bouquet in my studio is quick and easy, but I'm also drawn to what I call the sidewalk gardens growing in between lengths of concrete throughout the city. In these paintings the flowers are still central, plus I include a glimpse of the man-made environment they attempt to thrive in. The whole picture makes a fun juxtaposition of imagery as well as great contrast of design elements.
